How do home blood tests work?
Home blood tests make it easier to manage your health. No need for initial consultations or trying to book an appointment to see your doctor. Simply pick the test you want and we’ll post it to you. It fits through a standard-sized letter box, so you don’t need to wait in.
Once your kit arrives, open the packet and carefully read the instructions – don’t worry, they aren’t complicated.
Depending on what test you’ve ordered, you’ll need to collect one or two blood samples. These are very small samples – just a few drops – and it only takes a few minutes to complete.
You then post your blood sample to our lab for analysis. Once the lab has your sample, you’ll get your results within 2 working days. They’ll be viewable through our app or online dashboard, including commentary from our expert medical team to help you understand the results.

Are home blood tests accurate?
Yes – Forth home blood tests are an accurate and reliable method of checking key biomarkers.
Dr Thom Philips, Head of Clinical Services, says: “All the finger prick blood tests we offer have been validated through an NHS study for their comparability to venous (where a needle is used to draw blood from your veins), and stability for use in a postal service. This means the NHS labs we use to analyse the samples are confident the tests produced statistically validated results and were safe and reliable to use – on par with a test you would get from your GP.“
