WHEN TO TAKE THE TEST?
Ideally, collect your blood sample within 3 hours of waking and before food.
40 Biomarkers
Cholesterol (lipid profile)
A cholesterol or lipid panel test measures various cholesterol components to assess cardiovascular disease risk. Early detection of high cholesterol enables lifestyle changes and treatments that can lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Liver health
Liver tests, frequently known as liver function tests (LFTs), are a group of blood tests that help assess the health of your liver. These tests measure the levels of various enzymes, proteins, and substances produced or excreted by the liver to detect liver damage, inflammation, or disease.
Inflammation
Inflammation is the body's natural response to injury, disease or infection. Measuring inflammation is important for early disease detection, monitoring chronic conditions, and assessing overall health. It helps identify infections and autoimmune disorders as well as assessing cardiovascular risk.
Kidney function
Kidney function tests assess how well the kidneys filter waste and balance fluids and electrolytes. Impaired kidney function can lead to toxin buildup, electrolyte imbalances, and anemia, all of which can contribute to fatigue and reduced energy levels.
Creatine kinase
Creatine kinase (CK) is an enzyme found in muscle. Raised levels of CK are an indicator of muscular micro-damage. This can be associated with high impact or high resistance training load, dehydration, specific medical conditions and some medications. A CK test is useful in helping to prevent overtraining and related injuries.
Vitamins
Vitamins are essential nutrients obtained from food and sunlight. They support vital functions like bone health, energy production and fighting infection. Deficiencies can lead to various health issues, including bone disorders, anaemia, low mood and fatigue.
Minerals
Minerals support bone strength, muscle function, nerve signalling, and energy production. They regulate vital processes such as blood pressure and immune responses. Key minerals like calcium, magnesium, and iron are obtained through diet and are crucial for preventing deficiencies and maintaining overall health.
Thyroid function
Thyroid hormones help to control the rate at which your body converts food into energy. Thyroid imbalance can lead to problems with weight, energy and mood.
Cortisol
Cortisol, the 'stress hormone,' is released by the adrenal glands in response to stress. It regulates metabolism, maintains blood glucose levels, and modulates immune response. Elevated cortisol can result from anxiety, restricted diets, over-training, infection, trauma, or gland issues, leading to high blood pressure, high blood sugar, muscle weakness, and weight gain.
Haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)
Haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) provides an average reading of blood sugar levels over a period of 2-3 months. It is considered one of the best indicators of pre-diabetes and is also used by people with diabetes to monitor their levels. High blood glucose levels puts you more at risk of gaining weight, high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.
Full blood count (FBC)
A Full Blood Count (FBC) test measures various components of blood, in this test it includes red and white blood cell count as wells as haemoglobin. These tests helps identify conditions like anaemia, infections, and blood disorders.
Sex steroid hormones
Sex steroid hormones are vital for numerous physiological processes within the body. Their roles extend far beyond reproduction influencing mood, bone health, cognitive function and metabolism.
Pituitary hormones
FSH, LH, and prolactin, produced by the pituitary gland, are essential for reproductive health. Monitoring these hormones helps identify potential fertility issues and hormonal imbalances.

The Advanced Blood Check is Forth’s comprehensive at-home general health test, which evaluates around 40 biomarkers that measure heart, liver, kidney, thyroid, hormones, vitamins and diabetes risk levels from a sample you collect at home. Unlike a one-off panel, it is available as a subscription, so you can repeat the test to monitor how your results change. Every result is translated by HealthCoachTM into health scores across 10 areas of health, with personalised targets that help you track your progress over time. Forth’s Ultimate Health Check covers the widest single panel, while the Advanced test provides a comprehensive option built for tracking your health, not just measuring it once.

Your body’s internal balance impacts everything from energy levels to hormone health.
The Baseline Health Check (25 biomarkers) is the starting point for a general health overview. What is the most comprehensive home blood test available in the UK?
The most comprehensive home blood tests measure around 40 to 50 biomarkers using a single sample, covering heart, liver, kidney, thyroid, hormone and nutrient levels. Forth’s Advanced Health Check tests around 40 biomarkers, while the Ultimate Health Check covers the widest panel. Both turn results into health scores that you can track over time.
What is the most thorough blood panel test?
A thorough blood panel looks beyond a single system and screens metabolic, cardiovascular, liver, kidney, thyroid, hormone and nutrient markers together. Forth’s Advanced Health Check does this across around 40 biomarkers using one home sample, then uses HealthCoachTM to highlight the areas that matter most for you. It can help monitor health, not diagnose conditions.
What are the benefits of tracking your blood biomarkers over time?
Tracking biomarkers over time turns a single snapshot into a trend, so you can see whether a change in diet, training, sleep or treatment is actually working. Repeat testing helps you spot gradual shifts early and measure progress against your own baseline. Forth’s subscription and HealthCoachTM are built to support ongoing tracking.
What is a health score based on blood test results?
A health score translates several biomarker results into a single, easy-to-read rating for an area of health, rather than leaving you to interpret raw numbers. Forth’s HealthCoachTM scores your results across 10 areas of health, such as heart health and nutrition, and sets personalised targets so you know what to focus on next.
What is a healthy blood score?
A healthy score reflects results that are within the optimal range for your age, sex and circumstances, rather than a single universal number. Forth’s HealthCoachTM assesses each of 10 health areas against personalised ranges and shows where you sit, with targets to work towards. Always discuss any results or health concerns with your own GP.
What are the best home blood test kits?
The best home blood test kits use accredited laboratories, are doctor-reviewed and help you understand and act on your results. Forth analyses samples in UKAS-accredited, CQC-registered laboratories, including an NHS lab partner, and uses HealthCoachTM to turn results into health scores with personalised, trackable targets.
What is an advanced blood test?
Distinct from our general health blood tests, the advanced blood test is a comprehensive health assessment designed to give you a detailed look at your overall well-being. It measures a wide range of biomarkers to provide in-depth insights into key areas of your health.
This test serves as a powerful starting point for tracking changes over time, evaluating the effectiveness of treatments, and identifying early signs of potential health issues. Whether you’re focused on preventive care or managing existing conditions, the advanced blood test equips you with the knowledge needed to take control of your health.
What can the advanced blood test detect?
Our advanced blood test evaluates 39 biomarkers, as found in our biomarker glossary, across 10 key health areas, providing detailed insights into your overall well-being. From hormonal imbalances and nutrient deficiencies to heart health and metabolic function, this test offers a holistic view of your health:
You should consult a healthcare professional if you have questions about your results.
Is the advanced blood test a finger prick test?
No, the advanced blood test requires a trained healthcare professional to collect a blood sample from a vein in your arm. This can be done at your home or one of our many partner clinics across the UK.
Can I customise this test?
Yes, you can create a personalised health test using the Bespoke Builder. The ultimate health check is our most comprehensive test, but you can add more markers, such as AMH or a full iron panel.
Will a doctor review my results?
Your results will be carefully reviewed by a member of our medical team. They will provide personalised feedback, offering deeper insights into your report and suggesting potential next steps. The doctor’s commentary will consider personal data you’ve added to your profile, such as gender, age and BMI.
If you prefer, you can opt out of receiving the doctor’s commentary.
How secure is my data?
We prioritise the protection of your data with robust security measures. In line with GDPR regulations, we maintain strict legal standards for data sharing, ensuring your information is only accessed when necessary to deliver our services. For example, our doctors can view your results solely during the review process, and their access is immediately revoked once the review is complete.

How soon will I get my results?
We strive to deliver your results within 3-5 working days after your sample reaches our laboratory.
Important information regarding corrected calcium
Our laboratories have conducted stability validation for all biomarkers provided by Forth. Corrected Calcium has a shorter stability window than most markers, typically around 2 to 3 days. To ensure timely processing, Forth includes a Tracked 24 return envelope with all kits, allowing samples to reach the lab within 24 hours. In most cases, samples are returned within this stability period. If a sample arrives after this time frame, the corrected calcium result will not be provided.
