How soon will the test arrive?

If you order your test before midday on a Monday to Friday then your kit will be dispatched the same day. All our kits are sent out via Royal Mail Tracked24, so it should be with you within 1-2 working days.

How secure is my data?

We have strict processes in place to ensure the protection of your data. Following GDPR the company also operates under tight legal rules about the sharing of data which ensures that data is only shared if it is crucial to the delivery of our service. For example, our doctors see customer results at the time of review, however, after review, access to results is withdrawn. Learn more about your data security.

Can I have someone take my blood for me?

Yes. We offer two options if you do not want to do our finger prick test. The first is a home appointment where a nurse comes to your home to take a blood sample. The second is to visit a Phlebotomy clinic near you that offers a blood sample service. A blood sample will be taken from your vein and we will provide you with everything you need to give to the nurse to allow them to take the sample. The nurse will give you the blood sample to return to us using the pre-paid envelope provided.

Does a doctor review my results?

We have a team of doctors and nurses who look at all results and will comment on any results that are outside of the normal range for your age.

Can I download the results to share with my GP?

Blood sample collection

Why would I need a phlebotomy test?

Some of our tests require a phlebotomy due to the quantity of blood needed to analyse all the biomarkers within a test.

What is the difference between finger prick and phlebotomy blood test?

A phlebotomy blood sample (also known as venous) is where the blood is collected from the vein. A finger prick blood test (also known as capillary) is one that is collected from the finger using a lancet that pricks the finger with a small, sharp needle.

Are finger prick tests easy to do?

Essentially yes, anyone can collect the sample required easily and quickly providing they follow the instructions given. Our finger prick kits contain 3-4 small lancets that pierce the skin. You may need to gently massage your finger to help the droplets of blood form and drop into the tube. There are a few more tips that you can follow to help you collect your sample successfully.

I can’t collect my blood sample, what should I do?

We do our best to ensure our kits are easy to use, however, when difficulties do occur it is usually due to one of two things: dehydration and circulation. There are a number of things you can do to help collect your sample successfully.

Can I collect my sample if I am taking medication or supplements?

You can still take the test if you are taking supplements. Some medications, such as antibiotics, can influence your results while others won’t. So it’s always best to check with us first if you are on any medication.

How do I arrange a phlebotomy draw myself?

To arrange a phlebotomy draw yourself, you will need to contact your GP or local health clinic and book an appointment. We will post a phlebotomy kit directly to you when your place your order which will contain everything the health professional will need to do the blood draw.
